The Spirit Guild Star Keeper Gin

The Spirit Guild Star Keeper Gin is made in downtown Los Angeles by The Spirit Guild, a distillery founded by descendants of California citrus farmers, and unlike almost every other gin its base spirit is distilled from California clementines, purpose-made to keep a whisper of the fruit's character. Two junipers, classic Juniperus communis and the earthier native Juniperus californica, meet coriander, cinnamon, angelica, grapefruit, lemon, sage, grains of paradise, orris, Southern California pink peppercorn and pistachio. It is bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof).

The Gin Is In gave it a perfect 5 out of 5 and called it "one of the most fun gins I've discovered in 2021," describing a sagey nose of woody juniper, amber, peppercorn and orange, then camphor and sage giving way to warm pink peppercorn, green piney juniper and white grapefruit pith, with a long, warm, subtly nutty finish. Superb in a Martini, a Negroni or with tonic. A true California gin.
